The Council’s Midyear Board of Directors Meeting & Strategic Work Session is the only forum exclusively tailored for you as a Council Board member. Make your plans now to join your Council Board colleagues at Bernardus Lodge, in Carmel Valley, Calif., May 1-3, 2013. A preliminary agenda is listed and we will update the program information as the meeting gets closer. Under The Council's bylaws, Board members are required to attend three board meetings each year. If you are unable to attend the Board meeting, please email Chairman Andy Cassidy (cassidyag@ecsinsure.com), notifying him of your absence. 

Once you have registered for the Midyear Board Meeting, call the Bernardus Lodge directly at 888.648.9463 to make your room reservations. Reservations must be made by Monday, April 1, in order to guarantee the group room rates. Room types are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

NOTE: The contact information auto-populated for each attendee is the information we currently have in our database. Any changes to the contact information made during the registration process will change that individual’s permanent record in our database.

Mail or fax your payment by credit card or check (made payable to The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers). Due to PCI compliance mandates, The Council can no longer accept completed registration forms via email. Payment by check is not an option if registering online. Please retain a copy of your registration form for your records.

Cancellation Deadline – April 1

If you are no longer able to attend the meeting, please submit your cancellation in writing by April 1 to Susanna McElroy at susanna.mcelroy@ciab.com. After April 1, The Council is unable to refund any portion of the registration fee. The Council will also forward your cancellation notification to The Council’s chairman, Andy Cassidy.

Hotel Room Cancellation: Cancellations made within 15 days will be charged a one-night cancellation fee. For the complete hotel cancellation policy, please refer to the confirmation you receive from Bernardus Lodge.

Reservations and Room Rates

Reservations must be made by Monday, April 1, in order to guarantee the group room rate of $465 per night (rate is for single or double occupancy and does not include any taxes or service charges). At the time the reservation is made, a deposit of the first and last night will be required. After April 1, any reservation is based on hotel availability and prevailing room rate. Room types are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

To secure your hotel reservation, call Bernardus Lodge directly at 888.648.9463. Be sure to reference “The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers” or “The CIAB Midyear Board Meeting” when making your reservation to be assigned to the meeting room block and receive the discounted group room rate.

Hotel Information

Surrounded by a vineyard and the Santa Lucia Mountains, Bernardus Lodge is a premier resort that combines the simple elegance of fine country living, with high quality service and luxury amenities. Guest rooms are located in nine, single and two-story adobe village-style buildings along a terraced hillside. Hotel amenities include a luxurious spa, swimming pool, fitness center, two tennis courts, a croquet/bocce ball lawn and vineyard. Some of the unique services offered to guests include in-room wine, soft drinks and gourmet pastries, as well as wine and cheese service on arrival.

Spa & Salon Reservation Information: Because the Bernardus Spa & Salon is in high demand, we recommend that those who wish to have appointments during the meeting make their reservations early. Email for reservations at spareservations@bernardus.com or call at 831.658.3560.

Travel Information

Bernardus Lodge is approximately two hours from San Francisco Airport and half hour from Monterey Airport. The Bernardus Lodge website provides all driving directions to the Lodge.

Attire

Attire for the meeting is resort casual - golf shirts and khakis are appropriate. The weather in Carmel in early May can range from the low 60s during the day and the upper 40s at night.
