Nicole Vasile THE COUNCIL OF INSURANCE AGENTS & BROKERS LAUNCHES ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL IN RISK AND INSURANCE (APRI℠) DESIGNATIONMeet the First 30 Industry Professionals to Achieve the New APRI Designation WASHINGTON, D.C. — February 7, 2022 — The Council extends its congratulations to more than 30 industry professionals who are the first to achieve a new designation created specifically for commercial insurance brokerage – the Accredited Professional in Risk and Insurance (APRI℠). The APRI designation, which was launched in partnership with The Institutes and the University of Georgia, can be earned after fulfilling a series of requirements, including completion of The Council’s nine-month Insurance Professional School. The Insurance Professional School is the first and only school designed to accelerate the learning of top talent at commercial insurance brokerage firms, while allowing students to work fulltime and apply their skills on the job. “We’ve been hearing from our members for some time that a gap existed in the training and development options for up-and-coming brokerage professionals, and we saw it as an opportunity to build something entirely new,” said Ken Crerar, President/CEO of The Council. “We want to thank our member firms for all the support and encouragement they have provided to their colleagues along the way, and congratulations again to our first cohort of APRI designees!” The APRI designation is the culmination of hundreds of hours of live virtual instruction and self-paced course work, completion of two comprehensive assessment exams and a Capstone project, development of a Professional Growth Plan and submission of a manager’s letter of recommendation. Designees have demonstrated a strong foundation in commercial insurance coverages and application, industry and business acumen, and a client-centric approach to risk management and insurance solutions. “Being brand new to insurance, I found the program and content to be valuable as it helped lay the foundation for my industry knowledge,” said Stephen Saddemi, APRI℠, Hylant. “I’ve been in many training programs in the dozen or so years I’ve been in the insurance industry and this is by far the most impressive I’ve seen” added Jacob Pipkin, TrueNorth. The Council would like to congratulate the inaugural class of APRI designees and their firms: |
